The University of Canberra Alumni Book Club is back for 2026, and this round there's more reason than ever to get involved. Delivered in partnership with PBC Guru, the Book Club is a flexible, welcoming way to keep learning, stay connected with fellow graduates, and explore big ideas together, all at your own pace.
This reading cycle we're reading The Land Before Avocado by Richard Glover, a funny, eye-opening social history of Australian life in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Reading runs from Friday 31 July to Friday 2 October 2026, and you can jump in from page one alongside your fellow alumni.
Best of all? There are three chances to win a $100 Amazon gift voucher this round.

Getting involved is simple:

Prize 1: Join the Club
New to the Book Club, or re-joining for this round? Sign up during the sign-up window, from the campaign launch through to the end of the first week of reading (by 7 August 2026), and you'll go into the draw to win a $100 Amazon gift voucher. It's our way of welcoming you aboard.
Prize 2: Read and Review
Complete this reading cycle and submit a review or comment to go into the draw for a $100 Amazon gift voucher. We'd love to hear what you thought of the book, and your words may even help inspire fellow readers to join the next round.
Prize 3: Stay Active
This one rewards our loyal readers. If you joined the Book Club before this round and you've been actively reading along during this round, you'll be automatically entered into the draw to win a $100 Amazon gift voucher. No extra steps needed, it's simply our thank you for your ongoing support.

Terms and Conditions
The promotion is open to University of Canberra alumni aged 18 years and over.
The promotion runs from 31 July 2026 to 2 October 2026.
There are three prizes, each a $100 Amazon gift voucher. Winners of each prize are selected at random from eligible entries.
- Prize 1 (Join the Club): enter by signing up during the sign-up window, up to 7 August 2026.
- Prize 2 (Read and Review): enter by completing the reading cycle and submitting a review or comment.
- Prize 3 (Stay Active): existing members who joined before this round and are actively reading during this round are entered automatically.
Amazon gift vouchers are subject to Amazon's own gift card terms and conditions.

How it works
The book club connects through a private online forum where members can discuss the current book and network with each other. The group will spend approximately two months on each book, allowing you plenty of time to read.
The club is managed by鈥�, an organisation that arranges professional book clubs for companies, libraries, and alumni associations. They will be moderating the 糖心logo官网 Alumni book club to ensure the program is a great experience for all involved.
